Trying to save time by combining brow treatments?
While multi-step brow services are popular, it’s essential to understand the correct order and timing when waxing, tinting, and laminating brows especially to protect your client’s skin.
Why You Need to Be Careful
-
All three treatments exfoliate the skin to some degree
-
Doing them all at once can cause over-processing, redness, or even skin grazing
-
Brow skin is delicate and irritated clients don’t return
Recommended Treatment Order (if combining)
1. Laminate First
Start with your lamination system (e.g. London Brow Pro or London Brow DUO).
✔ This restructures the brow hairs and should always be done on unbroken, untreated skin.
2. Tint Second
Once lamination is complete and the brows are clean and dry, apply your Hybrid Dye or tint.
✔ Avoid over-saturating the skin - just tint the hairs for best results.
3. Shape Last (Wax or Thread)
Only after the tint has been removed and skin has settled should you wax or thread.
✔ This prevents tint or lamination product from entering freshly waxed follicles or broken skin.
Why This Order Matters:
Doing tint before waxing can lead to skin staining and irritation.
Doing lamination after waxing risks sensitivity and patchy results.
This method is the safest for skin health and long-lasting results.
When NOT to Combine Treatments
-
If the client has sensitive or reactive skin
-
If it’s their first time trying any of the treatments
-
If they’ve had a recent facial, peel, or are on active skincare (e.g. retinol)
Pro Tip from Leigh:
Offer clients the option to wax + tint, or laminate + shape, but rarely all three in one go— unless you’re trained, cautious, and have done a proper consultation.
