London Brow Hybrid Dye tubes stored upright in a clean, dry salon drawer

How to Store Your Hybrid Dye for Maximum Shelf Life

Want your Hybrid Dye to stay fresh, vibrant, and effective?

Proper storage is key—not just for longevity, but also to make sure every treatment delivers consistent results.

Why Storage Matters

  • Improper storage can cause oxidation, meaning your dye may change colour, thicken, or lose its power

  • Warm or humid environments can spoil the product quicker

  • Product lifespan is only guaranteed if stored as directed

How to Store Hybrid Dye Correctly

  1. Keep It Cool—but Not Cold
Store between 5°C and 25°C. A cool, dry cupboard or salon drawer is perfect. Don’t store in direct sunlight or near heat tools.

  2. Avoid the Fridge
Unless it’s extremely hot in your environment, the fridge isn’t ideal. Condensation can alter the formula, especially after multiple openings.

  3. Seal It Tight
Always replace the cap firmly after use to prevent air exposure. Air-tight = longer life.

  4. Don’t Mix and Leave
Only mix what you need per client. Pre-mixed dye can oxidise fast and won’t perform well if reused.

How Long Does It Last?

  • Unopened Dye: Up to 12 months (check the batch date)

  • After Opening: Best used within 6 months if stored correctly

  • Developer Bottle: 6–12 months depending on exposure and temperature

Signs Your Product May Be Off

  • The dye smells different or stronger than usual

  • It's gone watery, thickened, or changed colour

  • The Developer bottle is bloated or leaking

If in doubt—replace it.

🧡 Pro Tip from Leigh:

Keep your stock rotated and labelled with open dates - just like you would in your skincare or waxing drawer. It keeps your treatments consistent and professional.
